100 years of Weird Knitting Patterns – Exploring 20th-Century Vintage & Antique Knit Patterns

https://youtu.be/Rzg9qMOoN1M

In this week’s video – let’s dive in and explore 100 years of wonderfully weird, wacky & silly knitwear & knit patterns! πŸ€ͺ 🧢 This video was inspired by Stephanie Canada’s video ‘100 years of Weird Sewing Patterns’. Watch her video here.

I decided that instead of starting from the 1920s, as Stephanie did in her video, I wanted to focus on each decade of the 1900s. I also decided to focus on knitting patterns ONLY and not include any crochet patterns (but if you want to I can do a specific video for crochet patterns – just let me know!).
I decided also to focus on women’s wear and clothes & accessories that you would wear normally – no weird knitted costumes, dolls and homeware (trust me there is plenty of that! πŸ™ƒ)
To make sure my video didn’t become over an hour-long I limited myself to 2 patterns per decade (but as you will notice I couldn’t resist including more at times! Oops… 🀭).

I had so much fun researching for this video and in the end, I think I found a fantastic collection of some of the weirdest knit patterns of the 20th century. I really hope you will enjoy my findings! πŸ˜„
