Can I refashion a thrifted men’s shirt AND make it zero waste by reusing ALL of the materials!? 🤭✂️
In today’s video, both me and Evelyn Wood are taking on a zero-waste men’s shirt refashion challenge!
The rules we set for our refashion challenge:
- Use a thrifted men’s shirt
- Use ALL of the shirt making it a Zero Waste-refashion project
- Unpicked threads, cut off slithers from the overlocker etc. do not count
- We are alloed to use 20% of additional materials – but they must be thrifted and/or from our stash
I transformed a thrifted purple & blue plaid men’s button-down shirt into a beautiful puff sleeve blouse. To make sure I used up all of the materials and created as little waste as possible I created gathers & tucks. I also made the sleeves even bigger with some creative pattern cutting and turned the remaining fabric into a ruched trim for the cuffs and collar.
Evelyn on her hand created a cute peplum top with some really creative solutions on how to use up all the scraps. I must admit I was really impressed with how her zero-waste refashion turned out. Watch Evelyn’s refashion video here!
